Dars Guide to Lipsticks

“If you’re sad add more lipstick and attack” said Coco Channel. And to be quite honest, Coco is correct. Lipstick has an amazing ability to make you feel a little more confident & a little more bold, dressing up any single look. However, walking into the lip stick section of any beauty store can be extremely overwhelming. With the thousands of lip sticks staring back at you, figuring out which product to buy is difficult. In order to help you ladies out I have compiled a short list of my own favourite lipsticks. Let me know what you think of these and what lip products you like to use the most.

MAC Rebel Lipstick – I saw this lipstick on a friend of mine and fell in love immediately. However, I was really hesitant about purchasing it because of its dark colour. How could someone so pale and blonde pull of this colour? Surprisingly this plum colour works with every skin tone. Moreover, I wear this colour both when going out as well as for a working day. It’s an incredibly versatile and bold colour on a lipstick that is extremely creamy and moisturizing. What I also love about this lip stick is that it is incredibly long wearing and does not erase easily even after a meal. Highly recommend this product.

L’Oreal Paris Julianne’s Nude – This lipstick captured my interest the moment I saw it. Mainly because the tubes say “collection privee” in gold. The private collection consists of a variety of different tones suited to every skin tone and selected by the L’Oreal Paris Ambassadors including Julianne Moore. This specific lip stick is a very light pink and is most suited for fair skin similar to that of Julianne herself. The lipstick also has an extremely creamy texture & smells amazing! I know it’s weird to note the smell but you when sometimes you put on make up and you can basically smell the chemicals within it? This lipstick smells unbelievable.

L’Oreal Colour Riche: British Red – This lipstick is definitely bold with its Taylor Swift like shade of red. It has an extremely smooth texture and an incredible smell. A super long wear, lasting all day with minimal touch up required.

MAC Ruby Lipstick – I absolutely love both the matte texture of this lipstick as well as its bright red colour. This lipstick is also extremely long wearing and is basically impossible to remove. The only problem that I have with it is that it is a bit drying. I would definitely recommended to wear a bit of chap stick prior to putting on this lipstick.
