The more I learn about make up the more I admire Paula Begoun and all of her work in this field. For those of you who may not be familiar with her story, Paula’s journey in the make up world begun with a struggle against acne. After trying out numerous products and skin care treatments for over a decade, Paula decided to, wait for it, read the labels on her products. An amazing idea, that even today doesn’t seem to hit most of us. I admit it, I’ve been guilty of this for the longest time and am only recently starting to truly analyze what I put on to my skin on a daily basis. What surprised Paula the most however was the fact that the fourth ingredient on the label was acetone. Yup, you got that right. Nail polish remover. She was in essence, massaging nail polish remover on to her skin. Following this experience Paula begun to study make up and has published numerous books in relation to cosmetics as well as released her own line of products. After reading all about Paula’s work and viewing a couple of her interviews, I decided to give two of her products a try. The below is my review of the two goodies:
- Clinical Ultra-Rich Moisturizer ($31) – In the cold Canadian winter, my sensitive skin is prone to dryness and irritation. As such, I’m always on a look out for a good moisturizer. With key ingredient such as soy oil, shea butter, jojoba butter & avocado oil, this cream is extremely soothing to the skin. I found this cream to be perfect for softening my skin and I was extremely pleased by the results. I was also particularly pleased that the cream wasn’t greasy meaning that I could carry on with my job and blogging activities after putting it on. The Clinical Ultra Rich Moisturizer is extremely long lasting and absorbs quickly. I use this cream on a daily basis now and highly recommend it to anyone looking for moisturizer.
- Skin Recovery – Hydrating Treatment Mask ($24) – I absolutely love this product for moisturizing my face. The packaging specifically indicates that the product is to be left on the skin for at least 20 minutes or if needed overnight. I’ve been leaving the cream on overnight everyday and am absolutely loving it. Super absorbent, smell free, and extremely softening, this cream works magic for my skin. Moreover, the cream has an incredible texture and never feels heavy or greasy.
After trying out both of these products, I’m definitely going to be looking into more of Paula’s products. Have you tried any of these?
