Dars Review: Body Shop Additions

As you all may have noticed, I’ve been away for quite some time. Work has been nothing short of crazy but with the busy season behind me, I am thrilled to be back, reviewing products and sharing all of my tips and tricks with you.

I’ve been kindly sent two products from the Body Shop and am so excited to share them with you! Let’s get right into it!

The first is the Body Shop Body Butter. These products come packaged in flat plastic tubs and contain 200ml of cream. The one I was luckily able to try is Strawberry flavoured. This product is a great moisturizer and is incredibly light weight. The texture is also buttery yet not greasy at all. It absorbs fairly easily into skin and leaves it feeling silky smooth. The only area of uncertainty for me is the smell. I’ve shared the product with a few of my friends and they absolutely loved it. For me personally, the smell was a bit strong, though, the smell of strawberries is incredibly refreshing (it also seems to linger for an extensive period of time – up to 5 hours). The cream is also long staying and keeps the skin moisturized through out the day! Another great benefit is that this product features community trade shea butter. The product is definitely on the pricier side but make sure to watch out for sales! When writing this post I actually saw the product 50% online at Body Shop.

The second product I got to try out is the Body Shop – Vitamin E Aqua Boost Essence Lotion. I think it would be pretty fair to say that I am absolutely in love with this product. When I first received this product I was definitely confused. The texture is a little more on the liquid side and I wasn’t entirely sure what Vitamin E could help me with in terms of my skin.  As it turns out, the purpose of this product is to essentially boost the efficiency of your skin care routine. Applying this product I’ve definitely noticed an improvement in my skin, ie. it felt softer and fresher. Often times, I find that during the Canadian winters my skin dries out fairly quickly and moisturizer are just not enough to battle the cold. This product helps greatly by leaving my skin cool and hydrated. Likewise, this product is a dream to apply to your skin as it is extremely light weight ( and smells oh so amazing). The product absorbs immediately. Meant to be used as a toner, I apply only a few drops of the product on to a cotton pad and glide over my face and neck, being careful to avoid the eyes. The product subsequently leaves your skin feeling plump and oh so fresh. I can only imagine how great this product will be for the summer!

Overall, I’d highly recommend both products, with the Vitamin E Aqua Boost Essence being my top pick.

  1. I love the body butters especially when I catch them on sale! My favourite scents are the shea butter and the mango. I’ve also tried the peach, blueberry, strawberry, passionfruit, etc. I always keep coming back to my two favourites though!
